Oracle Exadata

• It is a data appliance prepackaged of same vendor.

• Data appliance means server with pre-installed and pre-optimized database.

• Oracle Exadata is a pre-configured clustered database server.

• Exadata support OLTP -  online transaction application and OLAP– online analytics application.

• Exadata is nothing but, it is a database server and hardware.

• It is a fastest database server.

• In 2008 initial version launched by oracle with the collaboration of HP. Components oracle take cared of database, operating system and storage area. HP take cared of hardware.

• Oracle launched version 2 in 2010 with the collaboration of sun microsystem. Sun microsystem supported hardware. Later 2010 oracle acquired sun microsystem.

• Version 2 was launched in 2011 with OS support of linux enterprise and Solaris

• Exadata is a collection of multiple database server and storage server.
